Blue carpet

Due to new regulations, securing a Schengen visa on arrival for your seafarers is only allowed with a valid excuse starting on 1 November 2010. They will need to arrange a Schengen visa at the Dutch Consulate in their own nation. For this reason, the consulates have introduced the ‘Blue Carpet Visa’. Seafarers can enlist on a ship in the Schengen region with this visa.

The seafarer can apply for this Blue Carpet Schengen visa for embarkation on a ship in the Netherlands with a letter of invitation from Crew support.
